Iceberg

The crunchiest and best known of them all, Iceberg is a family favourite in salads and sandwiches.

Spinach has a sweet and nutty flavour, is an excellent source of Calcium & Iron, and can be eaten cooked or raw.

Swiss Chard

A close 2nd to spinach in terms of nutritional value, Swiss chard is ranked among the top healthiest vegetables. Leaf stalks can vary in colour from red, white or yellow.

Cos

Also known as “Green Romaine” Cos lettuce is synonymous with the infamous Caesar salad. The leaves have a crisp, crunchy texture with a mild, almost sweet flavour.

Endive

A leaf that goes by many guises, it is also called frisee, chicory or curly endive. Similar to Rocket it has a peppery tang but is much spikier in appearance and texture.

Radicchio

Radicchio has vibrant red leaves and a strong bitter flavour that make it the perfect leaf to add depth and colour to your salad.

Escarole

High in fibre, Vitamins A & K and an excellent source of folic acid coupled with its slightly bitter flavour make this a good choice to start building your salad around.
